Christmas Time

December 3, 2013Angela KoehnNews

Well, here we are in the Christmas season again. I can hear some of you groan, and yes, I know it is a very busy time. December is filled with family dinners, work Christmas parties, shopping, baking, and the list could go on. However, it must be the little girl inside of me that persists in regarding it as a season of wonder. Everything from the miracle of the Christmas story, the holiday music in the air, Christmas shoppers bustling around with packages under their arm, school programs, presents, caroling, and a hundred other things all combine into the wonderful recipe that makes CHRISTMAS. As you can probably tell, it is one of my favorite times of the year!

The residents at Moundridge Manor are also enjoying this season. This month numerous holiday activities are planned, starting with yesterday evening when the youth group from the Grace congregation at Halstead brought a Christmas program, along with goodies to enjoy afterward.

If you are wondering what to get your loved ones for Christmas, a few suggestions from Carolyn: scented lotions or body wash (both men and women), perfume or cologne, new dresses, robes, shirts, slacks, etc. For those of you that bring new clothes please do not forget to drop them off at the laundry room so they can be marked.

My wish for each one is that you can slow down enough to enjoy the blessings of this season, letting the true meaning of Christmas fill your heart and spill out to others.

Moundridge Manor's mission is to represent and promote the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite's vision of providing individualized physical and spiritual care to those we serve in the spirit of joy.
