National Volunteer Week
National Volunteer Appreciation Week this year was from April 12 – 18, 2015. It is always a pleasure to take the time to recognize the volunteers that come and give of their time to spread some cheer, do some small task or help in other countless ways. As one quote says “Volunteers are not paid – not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless.” Over the last number of years we have had kind of a core group of volunteers who have given of their time – including numerous Junior Volunteers. As the Manor staff, we have felt for some time that we should expand our volunteer program – so in our last Manor Musings we had a special flyer that was included hoping to spread the word about available volunteer opportunities here at the Moundridge Manor. Also, there was an article describing some of the possibilities AND the response has been GREAT!! There have been ten people from numerous of the surrounding congregations offer their time!! It has been heartwarming to see some of them already come and assist with numerous activities that benefit the ones we care about the most – our residents! For those of you that have expressed interest in volunteering as a Dining Hostess – especially at dinner and supper – we will keep your name on a list and be contacting you in the future as our new dining and kitchen projects are completed and new dining choices are implemented. If you are interested in joining our volunteer team just stop by the Main Office or the Activity Office to fill out a Volunteer Application. Thank you so much for your response!
